I came up with the idea for this infused oil while eating my weekly pizza…I’d finally had enough of those super-hot chile oils made with artificial flavorings that you find in so many pizzerias!
Story
Arbol chiles come from Yahualica in Mexico. The small, thin chiles grow on a 6-foot-tall bush, which is uncommon; most chiles grow closer to the ground. This is our hottest chile-infused oil with an 8 rating on the Scoville heat unit scale (SHU).
Start by adding a drop or two to a dish, then taste as you go to avoid using too much. Use a couple of drops to add ice salads, potatoes, hot pasta dishes or pizza just as it comes out of the oven.
